Losing Connection

The default mode of operation is for master and slave to be connected permanently, although as WAN connections are by definition transient, Softdial CallGem™ will expect the link to fail.

If the slave instance loses connection (or is never able to connect) to both master instances, the following rules apply:

SCC version Slave Type Allowed Cutoff condition
Prior to V10.6.918 Licensed Up to the limit in its local license A configurable period of time (typically 24 - 48 hours)
From V10.6.918 Licensed Up to the limit in its local license 3 failed reconnection attempts (which occur every 5 minutes, so roughly a 15-minute timeout)
From 10.6.925 Unlicensed - Immediately upon disconnection (as there would be no local limit to use)

When the cutoff condition is reached, the slave instance will be restricted to the 5 agent demo limit, while attempting to re-establish connection with its master every 15 minutes.

The master agent count remains the same and the slave queues logon / logoff events are delivered to the master upon reconnect.

Also, the slave sets a queue limit of 1 million licensing events after which it will shut down. This will only impact users of very large slave systems or slave systems where usage data is aggregated. Users are warned of impending expiry by alerts of increasing severity.

Upon expiry of reconnect time, or queue limit, the slave Softdial CallGem™ service will perform a normal stop of all campaigns on all tenants and will not process logon requests until such time as the master server is reconnected.
