Master/ Slave Licensing

Registry Settings

All registry values relating to master/ slave communication are set under key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Sytel\Dialer

The values are as follows:

  1. The port for master/ slave communication is set using:

    Value NameTypeDefault Value
    LicensingServerPortREG_DWORD5321

The default can be changed by setting the value to the port number to be used. This value needs to be set on both master and slave, and must be the same value on each.

  2. The slave may configure up to 2 master servers. This is to assist with disaster recovery. In the case of outage on a licensing master server, the slave will attempt to connect to a second master.

The master server configuration on the slave is stored in the following registry values:

    Value NameTypeDefault Value
    LicensingServer1NameREG_SZsytellicense1.no-ip.com
    LicensingServer2NameREG_SZsytellicense2.no-ip.com

These defaults are in place because in future Sytel plans to provide licensing services to some customers.

  3. From V10.6.925 - An otherwise unlicensed installation of CallGem can attempt to connect to a master server. To allow this, set this value to 1.

    Value NameTypeDefault Value
    UnlicensedSlaveREG_DWORD0
