Configuration - Prosody S
Softdial Telephony Gateway™ (STG) supports Aculab's Prosody S software to provide a host based media processing solution as an alternative to the hardware version of ProsodyX for SIP-only telephony implementations.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING SERVICE STARTUP
There is an issue in the Aculab ProsodyS service which can cause bad synchronisation of the virtual DSP when the Aculab services are manually restarted.
When restarting any Aculab services on a ProsodyS system, the machine must be restarted. Aculab services should never be restarted manually.
ProsodyS is not compatible with ProsodyX - they cannot be used together on the same server.
STG installation
To install STG,
- right click TelephonySetup-<version>.exe (the Application, not the Windows Installer Package) and
- select Run as Administrator
Prosody S is automatically installed with the HMP version of STG.
Prosody S configuration
To set up Prosody S:
- Start Aculab ACT. Go to ProsodyS
- Click Add
- In the Serial Number field, enter HS_PROSODYS
- Click Generate Security Key
- In the IP Settings, select Enable SIP on Host
- Click OK
- On main ACT window click Apply Settings
- Open the STG config.xml document. Under the configuration element, click Edit or Add

</settingsProsodyS>On a machine with a Prosody X, the Prosody X will be ignored.
The elements sendDTMF and receiveDTMF can have the values either RFC2833 or Audio.
- Ports and routes will be the same as ProsodyX, except that the portinfo must be as below:

Prosody S CPU Load
Quad Core i7 can have
- 200 agents using G.711, or
- 100 agents using G.729
At maximum load, CPU should stay under 50% (average).
We recommend using this a reference when provisioning hardware.
